The Bible

The Bible, as originally given by God, is divinely inspired, infallible, inerrant, entirely trustworthy and the only supreme authority in all matters of salvation, faith and conduct.

One God

There is one God, who is spirit, infinite and immutable in all His attributes. He is externally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ (God manifest in the flesh), in His virgin birth, sinless human life, divine miracles, vicarious and atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension, mediatorial work, present rule as Head of the Church, and His person return in power and glory.

Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit’s present ministry of permanently in- dwelling and empowering the believer to live a godly life, to witness and to work for the Lord Jesus Christ.

Man

Human beings are created in the image and likeness of God, but in Adam all mankind fell into sin with the result that all mankind are sinners, hopelessly lost apart from the grace of God.

Salvation

Salvation is received by grace through faith alone, not by works, in Christ alone, who died for our sins and rose again.

The Church

The Church is the Body of Christ, God’s ordained authority on earth to represent Him as His ambassadors, in unity and with compassion and grace.

The Future

There will be a resurrection of both the saved and the lost. Those who are saved will be glorified and will reign with Jesus Christ and those who are lost will suffer eternal damnation.

Sanctity of Human Life

We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect and value all human life. We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect and dignity. Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of Hope5one.

Marriage and Sexuality

We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a sing, exclusive union, as set out in Scripture. We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other.

We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. Any form of sexual immorality—including adultery, fornication, homosexual or bisexual behavior, bestiality, incest and use of pornography—is sinful and offensive to God.

Gender

We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each per- son as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. A person who rejects the gender that God gave to him or her rebels against God and lives in sin. We believe that transsexuality is sinful and offensive to God.

We believe that God has made the two genders equal in value, dignity and worth and has assigned to each gender specific roles and responsibilities.
